Bracknell Ice Skating Club Email Newsflash - January 2016
Dear Members,
The entry form and technical criteria are now available on
the
BISC website for the Aya Jayne competition. Entry is via completion of the
on line entry form and payment is required at point of application by Paypal.
The closing date for entry is Friday 12th February at 5pm and sorry, but no late
or verbal entries will be accepted.
The competition is scheduled for Friday 26th February at
6.15pm and a final run through opportunity for all entrants will be available on
club ice on Tuesday 23rd February at 5pm. (We may require an ice cut prior to
the competition but will decide this on the night. If an ice cut is required,
the start time will be delayed by 15 minutes.)
The technical criteria and scoring remain the same as the
new system introduced last year, to summarise:
"Marks will be awarded for interpretation and entertainment
only. Each Judge will award a mark for interpretation and a second mark for
entertainment.
There will no longer be individual marks awarded for props/costume and technical
content. In the event of a tie, the entertainment mark will be used as the
tiebreaker."
This does not mean that props cannot be used if they
enhance your routine, but please be mindful
"Props can be used but they must be moved and positioned on
the ice by the skater(s) in one journey. No intervention by a 3rd party (not on
the ice) such as remote control or throwing on of props."
There are over 4 weeks to go until the competition and we
welcome individuals and groups of all levels to participate. In the event the
entrants span a broad base of skaters we may amend the competition categories to
better reflect the ages and levels of skaters.
In the event of any questions please e-mail

Regards,
BISC
